In my job, some folks have asked me for recommendations on ways to present complex information in a simple easy-to-read format. I’m a big fan of visual representations because they easily convey a wide range of information and (if well prepared) rely on common understanding of the audience. Be that as it may, I’ve found that the Periodic Table of Visualization Methods is a great tool to give you an idea of different or creative ways to present data. The page takes a while to load but as you mouse-over the various “elements” in the table, you get examples of visual representation formats. This can be an incredibly useful tool to get your mind thinking of alternate ways to present information to your audience.
